Creatinine
Creatinine is a waste product from normal wear and tear on the body's muscles.
What is it?
Creatinine is the waste product of creatine, which the muscles use to make energy. Typically, creatinine travels in the blood to the kidneys, leaving the body in the urine. High levels in the blood might indicate that the kidneys are not working correctly.
Additional information?
Raw-fed dogs can have higher creatinine blood levels than kibble-fed dogs. Standard reference ranges are created based on kibble-fed dogs, so you must ensure your veterinarian knows your dog is raw-fed.
