Chia seeds
Chia seeds are tiny seeds from the Salvia hispanica plant. They are packed with nutrients that can benefit dogs.
Why we feed?
Chia seeds are soluble fiber that helps boost your dog's gut health, firm loose stools, and ease constipation. Although they are high in the omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), dogs have a limited ability to convert ALA into the longer-chain omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. Chia seeds are also high in protein, B vitamins, and minerals, which help keep your dog feeling fuller for longer.

How to feed?
Since chia seeds absorb a lot of water, they should be pre-soaked to form a gel before feeding, especially for kibble-fed dogs. Feeding too many chia seeds dry can cause blockages. For standard dosing, feed 1 tsp for small dogs and 2 tsp for large dogs.
