What is it?

The BCS is a subjective assessment of a dog's body fat stores that considers the dog's frame size independent of its weight. It is either a 5—or 9-point scale associated with the amount of fat on the dog's body, surrounding the ribs, the waist, the base of the tail, and the abdomen.
