Allergy
An allergy occurs when the body’s immune system mistakenly reacts to something harmless, like a particular food, pollen, or flea bite, as if it were a threat.
What it is?
This overreaction causes clinical signs like itching, sneezing, swelling, or digestive issues. It's the body's way of trying to protect itself, but in the case of an allergy, the response is unnecessary and can be uncomfortable or even harmful. In dogs, common allergies might involve scratching, ear infections, or upset stomachs, depending on what triggers their reaction.

What it indicates?
Dogs can have different types of allergies, including environmental allergies (like reactions to grass, mold, or pollen), food allergies (to ingredients such as chicken, beef, dairy, or grains), and flea allergies (a reaction to flea bites). Clinical signs of dog allergies often include itching, red or irritated skin, paw licking, ear infections, sneezing, or gastrointestinal problems like vomiting or diarrhea. Some dogs may also experience watery eyes, runny noses, or hot spots.
