Sardines

Sardines are small, oily fish that belong to the herring family. They are prized for their nutritional value, sustainability, and versatility in cooking.

Why we feed?

SSardines are highly nutritious and an excellent source of essential nutrients. They are rich in high-quality protein, which supports muscle repair and provides energy, and omega-3 fatty acids promote heart, brain, and joint health while reducing inflammation. Sardines also supply vital vitamins and minerals, including vitamin D, which supports bone health and immune function, and vitamin B12, essential for energy metabolism and red blood cell production. Additionally, sardines are a good source of calcium and phosphorus, necessary for bones and teeth, and selenium, which aids antioxidant defenses and overall cellular health.

How to feed?

Fresh, frozen whole sardines are ideal; however, canned sardines are also acceptable. If using canned, ensure you get them packed in water without spices or oils. Sardines are fed as 10% of your dog's bowl if you are using the ancestral diet.
